Homelessness in San Diego

Homelessness is truly a problem and it is a big one in where I live in San Diego. No one deserves to be on the streets when they are nice, kind people. It is just like putting tons of beautiful art works, each so amazing, on the street. If you had a piece of art you would not put it outside to get ruined, no you would display it in a house. Right now we have to take a stand and become a happy, healthy community. Can you imagine if you could not just get water and food anytime? Well that’s what the homeless go through every day. Imagine all the pain they go through and how for them every day is a struggle to survive. Think of all the kids who can’t live a normal life like you. Just imagine how hard it is for them. So we need to make a change. You might think why don’t they just get jobs? The thing is they are homeless so some people treat them badly. What they look like on the outside is not them on the inside. They are just human beings who need a house, food, and water but they don’t have that. As a ten year old I am mature enough to realize this problem. I think adults should be mature enough to help a group of people who need it. As I said, I am ten I have seen so many homeless I have seen someone who had no clothes. I have seen homeless babies and people of all ages going through the same tragic problem. Now truly is the time to make a difference. To show support try to wear purple to show you support homeless awareness. If you ever see a food drive or goods drive, donate something. If you see someone homeless asking for something and you have it, help them. I remember once after we got bagels we saw someone who was homeless so we gave them a bagel. It helped them and made us feel good.

Let’s cover some reasons why the homeless would not go to a shelter. Some reasons are mental illness, they are ashamed, take drugs, they are just hopeless in their minds and not in reality, and so many more. I am writing this because sometimes parents are raising you with all of the things you need and hiding you from reality. When they should be raising you to help and make a difference. So now it is time to go make that difference.
